The Influence of Language on Public Trust
Language plays a powerful role in shaping how events are understood. When public officials use historically charged or emotionally evocative terms, those words can prime audiences to interpret subsequent information through a particular lens.
Public trust in democratic institutions depends, in part, on the accuracy and fairness of information provided by leaders. When legal actions are described in ways that do not align with documented facts, confidence in both governance and the rule of law may erode.

Such selective transparency may provide short-term political benefits but risks long-term consequences for institutional credibility.
